BERGEN CATHOLIC SHOCKS EASTSIDE 49-40!

 Paterson, NJ……Shocking was the word, but impressive was another adjective that could be used in Bergen Catholic’s win over Eastside on the Ghost’s home court! The win was a total team effort as Junior Riley Welsh led a balanced attack with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists and Senior Pierfrancisco Oliva(pictured) scored 9 points, but more importantly grabbed 14 boards! Senior Justin Salem added 9 points and Senior Anthony Uribe chipped in 8 points! Bergen Catholic surprisingly out rebounded Eastside 29-20! Eastside never lead in the contest and when they did make a run, B.C. would get a big shot from one of their players to stem the tide! Senior Asem Johnson led the Ghost’s with 12 points, while Senior Shakur Juiston scored 9 points with 7 blocked shots! Sophomore Nhazir Smith scored 8 points for Eastside who must shake it off to get ready to play East Orange in the Hoop Group Showcase Saturday at 1:30 pm! Bergen Catholic is in the same Showcase Sunday and will face the Patrick School!
