009FDU, TEANECK, N.J….. In one of the better games of the year Don Bosco Prep’s Junior Marcellus Earlington made a free throw with 6.1 seconds on the clock to give Prep a 53-52 win over Bergen Catholic!

Don Bosco led at the half 28-22, but Bergen’s Senior Taj Benning started the second half with a couple buckets and Senior Gabe Stefanini also made a shot that tied it up! The teams went back and forth and finished up 38-37 as S011ophomore Jayson Earle hit a “triple” to end the quarter! Junior Ron Harper’s 7 big points in the 4th, including a huge “triple” and block in a key sequence of the contest! A key moment of the game was Stefanini picking up his 4th foul in the last quarter with 3:53 left!  He came back and made a “triple” to tie the score at 52! That set the stage for Earlington’s drive to the basket that resulted in him being fouled and hitting 1 o012f 2 from the line! Earlington(far right) finished with 12 points, while Harper(right) added 11 and Senior Chris Paul chipped in 10 points! Stefanini led Bergen catholic with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Benning added 14 points! The win gives Prep a 2-1 edge for the Season this year and it can be expected that these two will meet once again in the State tournament!
