Hackensack holds off Saddle River Day 63-60

Hackensack’s Shawn Reckley

Hackensack, N.J…. In a close contest, Hackensack held on to defeat Saddle River Day 63-60! Junior Shawn Reckley went off for 29 points, including 4 “triples” while Senior Neftali Valentin scored all 14 of his points in the second half, including 3 “triples” late in the contest with the last one giving Hackensack a 61-58 lead to ice it! The game was back and forth as Khalil Baker added 7 points and 10 rebounds and John Judkins chipping in 6 points and 7 assists for Hackensack. Saddle River Day’s Rich Machado was a problem for Hackensack all game as he finished with 24 points, 3 assists and 3 steals and Seb Giannotti scored 12 points with 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Sean O’Neil chipped in 8 points for Saddle River Day!

Kennedy defeats Clifton 63-45!

Kennedy guard Yasen Crawford

Paterson, N.J….. Kennedy started the game against Clifton sluggish as they fell behind 11-7 to end the 1st quarter! But, a 25-5 spurt in the 2nd quarter gave them a 32-16 halftime lead and they never looked back on their way to a 63-45 win! Junior guard Yasen Crawford led the way for the Knights with 22 points, while 6’7 Senior Devinir Garvey scored 8 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 3 shots! Senior Jae’waun Abrams knocked down 3 “triples” in the contest as Kennedy’s defense caused problems for Clifton the entire game! Jaheim Bunting led Clifton with 11 points and Paul Dupree chipped in 9!

Bergen Catholic Defeats Immaculate Conception 72-58!

Oradell, N.J…… Bergen Catholic outscored Montclair Immaculate 27-15 in the 4th quarter to pull away for a 72-58 win! Junior stud Will Richardson led the way with 25 points, 23 coming in the 2nd half! Freshman Elliot Cadeau added 13 points and Junior Julian Brown finished with 10! Immaculate was led by Senior Jayden Brown with 27 points and Senior Zakai Zeigler chipped in 22!
