Wednesday’s Fallball Action!

Paterson, N.J………… The  Playaz Club sponsored Fallball League got a hot one tonight in the Somerset County’s Best vs. the Gray Bees game! Freshman Isaiah Briscoe(top right) is making his transition to Highschool Basketball a smooth one! He has more than held his own in the league and the #1 freshman in the state proved it again scoring 17 points in the Gray Bees 64-57 win over Somerset! “Boogie” Briscoe led a balanced attack as Senior Melvin Johnson scored 13, Junior Tyler Ennis added 12 and Senior Tariq Carey chipped in 9! Senior Dominic Hofffman led Somerset with 19 points, while Senior Alex Mottola and Junior Jaren Sina scored 14 and 13 respectively! In other action, Hudson Hawks played without Junior studs Reggie Cameron and Kavon Stewart but came out and coasted to a 57-40 win over the Paterson Spirits! Junior Raekwon Kelly(right) led the attack with 14 points, while Junior Mike Young chipped in 10 points and Freshman Nassir Barrino(left), who is also making a smooth transition into Highschool Basketball played a  great floor game scoring 9 points, with 5 assists and 3 steals! Senior Deandre Noble led the Spirits with 14 points The Reebok’s Back blew out the Bergen Highwaymen 55-34 as Senior Kyle Anderson scored 23 points in an assortment of ways, inside and outside! Senior Jerome Frink added 13 points for Reebok! In a modified game due to traffic problems by St. Raymond they still came off the road to beat Paramus Paladins 16-13!

   Paterson, N.J………In the game of the night, the Bergen Comets defeated a game Hawthorne Defenders team 55-47! Bergen Sophomore Rashard Figures led the scoring with 21 points, while Junior Chris Myers(right) added 10 while playing a strong error free floor game! Bergen would take leads throughout, but the Defenders would keep battling back! They ran out of gas late! Sophomore Alex Thomas led Hawthorne with 12 points,while Senior Paul Little added 10! In other games the Essex County Raiders got strong play from Sophomore Jamar Gilbert(left) and Junior Ismael Sanogo who scored 13 and 14 points respectively in their 51-35 win over the Union City Players! Johnny Rodriguez led Union City with 9 points! The Essex Terriors beat the Sparta Minutemen 52-39 while the Silk City Knights beat the Englewood Force 51-38!
