Jordan Theodore finally got what he set out to do. After four years of seeking that elusive Passaic County championship ,Theodore was able to reach his goal, with alot of help from his teammates as Paterson Catholic beat Eastside Highschool 84-78. The high energy game was filled with energizing and electrifying plays throughout as each team seemed to be up to the task.Even though P.C. held the lead the entire time the Ghosts of Eastside continued to fight back. Eastside held its only lead of the game at 11-10, but a 11-2 run gave P.C. a 21-13 lead. Theodore(13pts,4dimes,2stls) got the help he needed from teammates Fuquan Edwin(18pts,3stls),Trevor Clemmings(8pts,7blks) and particularly Lance Brown and Wayne Mack. Brown was a steady force all game. His 17 points,6 rebounds and tremendous defense was in many eyes what made him the m.v.p. of this game. But if Brown wasn’t ,then Wayne Mack could have been as his leadership and calm when Eastside made runs particularly late in the game was also key to this hard fought victory. Mack finished with 13 points,6 dimes,3 steals and made a big layup late to withstand another Eastside run.Eastside was led by ex Paterson Catholic player David Robertson(23pts,13rebs) who wanted to prove his worth to his former team and more than did that. They also got a great effort from jr. Karon Abraham(19pts),Brian Lewis(17pts,6stls) and Antoine Alexander(14pts.). Note: Freshman Miles Mack (Wayne’s brother)made a huge impact in this game in the minutes he played, scoring 6points,an assist and a huge steal and layup during a second quarter spurt.Sr. seven footer Ian Chiles had 5 blocks in a short stint. Eastside’s Abraham made a rare four-point play as he hit a three and was fouled on the play when the Ghosts were threatening.Unfortunately, his foul trouble did not help as he had to sit the majority of the third quarter.
