PLAYAZ SPRING FLING 7TH AND 8TH: PLAYAZ AND NEW HEIGHTS GET”CHIPS”!

009Kennedy H.S., Paterson,N.J……. The Playazbasketballclub’s annual Spring Fling AAU Tournament took place for the 7th and 8th grade! After a weekend of top tier basketball, the Playaz 7th grade team and New Height’s 8th grade squad both came away with championships!

 Jalen Hargrove(pictured left) was a load to handle as he scored 14 points and pulled down an impressive 22 rebounds and was named player of the game a006nd C.J. Wiltcher scored 19 points with 10 rebounds as the Playaz 7th grade squad took control of the game in the 2nd half to defeat Metru Mavs 67-53! They knocked down 10″triples” as a team led by their guards Jayden Brown( 3″triples), Mahkai Moore( 2″triples”), Daizon Pauldo( 2″triples”) and Wiltcher(2″triples)! The win was a solid team effort as a contribution came from all! Besides those players already mentioned, the Playaz also got strong play over the weekend from Mario Bollo, Joshua Cash, Jaymeer Holton, Jahmahli Carnegie, John Kearny and Armani Lopez! They look like a squad to be dealt with over the AAU season! The Metro Mavs were led by Quaron McPherson(pictured left) who is a keeper with 24 points, 12 boards and 4 steals! The playaz reached the title game by defeating the Brooklyn Rens 39-34 behind Hargrove’s 14 points!

Tyson Walker(left) scored 20 points and Precious Ochuwa added 17 points and 14 rebounds to lead New Heights to a 66-56 win over the Playaz! New Height’s took an early 22-6 lead and never were really challenged! The photo (16)Playaz were led by their point guard Anaz Amos(left) who scored 18 points and Ray Figures who chipped in 10 points! ThePlayaz reached the title game by defeating City Rocks from Albany 47-34 behind Amos 17 points!
