BERGEN COUNTY JAMBOREE: PARAMUS CATHOLIC, ST. JOSEPH’S, DON BOSCO PREP AND BERGEN CATHOLIC!

Tenafly,N.J…. The Sunday Bergen County Jamboree games at Tenafly H.S. had some good ones and some bad ones, but in the end St. Joseph, Paramus Catholic, Don Bosco Prep and Bergen Catholic all will play next week!

                                                        ST. JOSEPH (MONT.) 77    PASCACK VALLEY  64

Senior Nate Garvey(right) scored 24 points and Junior Chauncey Hawkins(bottom right) added 18 points as St. Joseph Reg. held off a tough Pascack Valley team 77-64! The game was closer than the final score as Junior Legend Dominguez got hot for Pascack in the 2nd half! He scored 17 of his 19 points in the stanza and help close the lead to as low as 4 points! St. Joe’s scored 27 points in the 4th quarter to take a 50-42 3rd quarter lead and turn it into the final margin! St. Joe’s got 14 points from Junior Joseph Radi and got a couple of big buckets from Sophomore Dorian Hardy in the  second half! He finished with 8 points and 5 rebounds off the bench! Junior Matt Vasel scored 13 points, Senior Jon Piccinich added 12 points and Senior Colin Dedrick chipped in 9 points for Pascack Valley!

 

 

                                                              PARAMUS CATHOLIC  56      HACKENSACK  46

Senior E.J. Anosike and Senior Landon Gaines each picked up double-doubles as Paramus Catholic took over the contest in the 4th quarter to defeat Hackensack 56-46! Anosike scored 13 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and Gaines scored 13 points and grabbed 10 boards as P.C. won the rebounding edge, which was one big key to the game! Anosike(with Asst. Coach Mike Richardson) also blocked 3 shots and had 3 steals! Sophomore Justin Sykes added 11 points, including 3 “triples” for P.C.! Paramus Catholic did a great job defensively of neutralizing Hackensack star guard M.J. Richardson, holding him to 4 points! Sophomore Atiba Taylor led Hackensack with 15 points and 8 rebounds and Junior Ahmed Bailey added 11 points and 4 assists for Hackensack!

 

                                                                 DON BOSCO PREP  55    CLIFFSIDE PARK  37

Senior Omar Mostafa scored 20 points and Sophomore Marcellus Earlington added 12 points off the bench to lift Don Bosco Prep past Cliffside Park 55-37! Junior Chris Paul chipped in 9 points and pulled down 7 rebounds and Junior Manley Dorme finished with 8 points and 4 rebounds! Senior Julian Guzman led Cliffside Park with 9 points! Cliffside Park was game and played hard, but they were out manned by the Don Bosco Prep squad!

This one was over early, as Bergen Catholic took a 14-3 1st quarter lead and never looked back as led by Junior Gabe Stefanini’s 14 points and Junior Taj Benning’s 7 assists Bergen Catholic cruised past North Arlington 76-25! Sophomore Isaac Aguiar led North Arlington with 9 points!
