BERGEN COUNTY JAMBOREE: ST. JOSEPH REGIONAL AND DON BOSCO PREP ADVANCE!

007Ramapo U, N.J…… The two quarterfinal games saw perennial Non-Public powers St. Joseph and Don Bosco Prep move in to the Semifinals as each displayed strong offensive games tonight!

 Senior Sean McKinless(right) shot the lights out in St. Joseph Regional 75-46 blowout of Cresskill in the Bergen Jamboree quarterfinals! McKinless made 7″triples” including a banker trey and a four point play as he scored 29 points and still was able to dish out 7 assists! Joe’s went on a 13-0 run to start the contest and put Cresskill on it’s heels right away! They took a 38-27 lead into the half as McKinless had 20 of his points in the stanza! It got worse as St.Joe’s held Cresskill to 19 second half points! Sophomore Chauncey Hawkins added 13 points and 4 steals and Junior Nate Garvey chipped in 12 points with 4 assists! Senior Pat Dougherty was a defensive standout in holding offensive star Matt Flood to a hard fought 15 points! Cresskill also got 12 points from Senior Sean Kelly! St. Joseph will now face Bergen Catholic in the Semi finals!

  Senior Amani Craddock(right) came off the bench and scored 25 points and Don Bosco Prep had four players in double figures as it defeated Ridgewood 81-61! Don Bosco Prep took a 43-21 halftime lead, but Ridgewood came out in the 3rd quarter, behind the play of Senior Brendan Kandel and Senior Tyler Sullivan to make it a game as they outscored Prep 21-12 in the quarter to cut the lead to 55-42! Don Bosco got more breathing room to start the 4th quarter as Craddock, Junior Omar Mostafa and Junior Brandon Anderson got buckets early to push the lead back up! Mostafa scored 18 points, Anderson finished with 14 points and Senior Lonnie Rivera added 13 points for Prep, while Kandel paced Ridgewood with 23 points and Sullivan finished with 18! Don Bosco Prep will now face Teaneck in the Semifinals next weekend!
