BERGEN HOLIDAY FESTIVAL: BERGENFIELD AND DWIGHT-ENGLEWOOD ADVANCE TO “CHIP”!

015Englewood H.S., Englewood,NJ….. The Bergen Holiday Festival Semi-finals took place today and an impressive showing was made by both Bergenfield H.S. and Dwight-Englewood! Each advance to the Championship game to be played Tuesday Dec.3oth at 4pm!

  Count Junior Jovani Haskins(#2) as one of the best players in the Northern New Jersey area! Haskins displayed an assortment of skills enroute t004o a 29 point, 11 rebound, 3 blocked shot performance! His play helped Bergenfield pull off a 60166-57 win over Englewood(Dwight Morrow)! James Hamilton(left) added 14 points and 2 steals for Bergenfield, while Haskins brother D.J.(right) stuffed the stat sheet with 8 points, 7 rebounds, 4 dimes and 3 steals! Bergenfield held a 41-37 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter but a 25 point 4th helped them maintain their slim lead against a game and hard playing Englewood squad! Senior Sidney Dawkins scored 21 points with 5 rebounds and 3 steals to lead Englewood, while Darius Payne scored 13 points and Willie Woods added 11 points!

A young Dwight-Englewood team looks like they could be major players in Bergen County as they dismantled Westwo006od 77-64! D.E. led for most of the contest and was impressive in expanding the lead throughout the game! Senior Vinny DeBellis(right) led a balanced attack with 22 points, while Junior Sean Layne(left) scored 16 points with 7 rebounds and Freshman point guard Jalen Carey(bottom right) impressed with 11 points, 6 dimes and 2 steals! Nathan Osterhus led Westwood with 18 points, while Tyler McKoy finished with 17 points!005

  Junior Patrick Robertson scored 15 points and River Dell outscored Bogota 18-6 in the 4th quarter to get a 48-42 victory in a Holiday Festival losers bracket game
