DAN FINN CLASSIC: HUDSON CATHOLIC, SETON HALL PREP, NEWARK EASTSIDE AND RAMAPO WIN!

Jersey City Armory Jersey City, N.J…… The 14th Annual Dan Finn Classic took place and Gardenstatehoops was there for four contests! Hudson Catholic, Seton Hall Prep, Newark Eastside and Ramapo came away with victories!011

                                                                            HUDSON CATHOLIC  67   THE PATRICK SCHOOL  59

Oregon commit Louis King(pic with Finn family) scored 26 points to lead Hudson Catholic to a 67-59 win over The Patrick School! King scored 16 of his points in the first half as he scored all but 6 of his teams points in the stanza! Ohio State commit Luther Muhammad finished with 15 points and Senior Jahvon Quinerly scored all 10 of his points in the second half and added 5 assists for Hudson! The Patrick School was led by Senior Vladir Manuel with 20 points and 11 rebounds and Junior Al-Amir Dawes with 15 points and 5 assists! The Patrick School went ahead at the end of the 3rd quarter 46-43, but a big “triple” and two free throws from Junior Jonathan Delgado helped Hudson Catholic tie the score and eventually take the lead!

Seton Hall Prep staring five scored all their points led by Junior Ashton Miller(pic with Finn family) with 15 points as they held on to defeat St. Peters Prep 62-55! Senior Alex Amegwu and Senior Jesse Reid each scored 14 points, Sophomore Jabri Abdur-Rahim added 12 points and 8 rebounds! Prep cut the lead to 44-40 at the end of the 3rd as they took the game to the wire! Army commit Brendan Thiele led 17 points and Senior Dimitris Placida and Sophomore Will White each scored 10 points for St.Peters Prep!

 

 

                                                              NEWARK EASTSIDE  60     HACKENSACK  46

Senior Keron Williams scored 18 points and Senior Shamir Johnson(pic with Finn family) 025added 16 points as Newark Eastside defeated Hackensack 60-46! Senior Jahid Jenkins and Senior DeAndre Speight added 12 points apiece for Newark Eastside! Newark Eastside had a big advantage on the boards in the 1st half and led 28-15 at the half! Hackensasck finally pulled the game within single digits as they cut the lead to 40-32 to end the 3rd quarter! Newark Eastside had a big free throw edge making 24 of them compared to 10 for Hackensack!

Senior Jason Oppler(pic left) scored the last 9 points of the game for Ramapo as they held on to defeat Bloomfield 46-43! Junior K.C. Hunt(pic with Mr. Finn) led Ramapo with 18 p017oints and Oppler finished with 13! Bloomfield was led by Junior Will Robinson with 13 points and 11 points from Senior Mayowa Akindebe! Bloomfield kept chipping away, but Oppler made 5 of 6 free throws late to help maintain the small margin!
