DEPAUL BEATS ST.JOSEPH! CARTER SCORES 1,000TH POINT!

004Wayne,NJ……… Depaul’s Senior Juwuan Carter went into the game against St. Joseph needing a win and 21 points to reach 1,000 for his career! He almost got his 21 points at the foulline by making 20 of 23 foul shots and finishing the contest with 34 points as DePaul held on to get a much needed win 65-59! DePaul held a 27-18 halftime lead, but St. Joseph came out in the 2nd half with full court pressure that caused DePaul to turn the ball over and get Joe’s back in the game! With 1:35 left in the 3rd Junior Andrew McGuire’s layup tied the game at 35! That’s when Carter took over! He scored on a layup with 1:16 in the quarter which gave DePaul back the lead, but also was his 1,000th point of his career! He scored the next 7 points to help give DePaul a 42-38 lead to end the quarter! The 4th quarter was close as DePaul fought off every run St. Joe’s had to offer! Carter, Senior Devon Shuster, Sophomore Jordan Thomas and Junior Debon Bright all hit free throws down the stretch to preserve the win! McGuire finished the game with 19 points and 006Junior Patrick Doherty added 12 for St. Joseph! Shuster finished with 7 points and 8 rebounds for DePaul!
