EASTSIDE POWERS PAST DON BOSCO PREP 66-57!!

Ramsey,NJ… Junior Asem Johnson scored 26 points and Senior Ahmad Dauda scored 20 points, including 5″triples” as Eastside out toughed Don Bosco Prep in a 66-57 win!

Eastside played a near perfect 1st quarter as they committed zero turnovers and took a 25-13 lead with Johnson accounting for 12 of the 25! Don Bosco found their legs in the 2nd quarter and combined with a couple missed shots down low from Eastside closed the gap to 30-25 to end the half! After an even 3rd quarter in which both teams scored 12 points the lead was still five 42-37! Eastside took control early in the 4th quarter by holding Prep scoreless in the first 2 minutes and getting a two pointer from Johnson(right) and a”triple” from Dauda(left) that pushed the lead up to ten 47-37! They held them off the rest of the way! The key to the game was the Ghost’s dominance on the glass as they outrebounded Don Bosco Prep 34-19 led by Junior Shakur Juiston’s 11 and their ability to not turn the ball over! Prep was led in scoring by Junior Amani Craddock with 19 points and Junior Lonnie Rivera with 18 points! George Washington commit Paul Jorgensen finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds for Prep! Both teams will prepare for their semifinal county games as Eastside will be playing DePaul Saturday in a Passaic County Tournament contest and Don Bosco Prep will face Ramapo in a Bergen County Jamboree matchup on Sunday!
