GARDENSTATE SHOWCASE OVERVIEW!

Written by Cameron on . Posted in Garden State Hoops

Kennedy H.S. Paterson,N.J…….Despite a poor showing from confirmed College Coaches, the players that participated i035n the Garden State Showcase were top notched and brought their games to the table! Gardenstatehoops respects all the hard work these players put in and will give an overview of each individual in the event! Thanks also goes to Co event coordinator Jamal Slappy and the guys who came out to help Coach and officiate!

ADAM TRAORE– HUDSON CATHOLIC:  Adam showed that he is definitely physical enough to play on the Collegiate level. Showed ability to put the ball on the floor and has an improving three point shot. Is a great finisher around the basket! A better athlete than he appears, he was one of the best players in the gym!

031

TYLER DEARING–TEANECK H.S.:  Penetrates well to the basket and will shock you with his range from three line! Tyler showed high leadership qualities in his contests and his quickness is a lethal part of his repertoire! Does not let his size distract him from making plays. Can run someone’s team on the next level.

030

JAHKI CLARKE—PATERSON CHARTER: Jahki was one of the youngest players in the event and more than held his own! Showed the ability to finish in transition and was automatic from mid range! He is fearless going to the basket and was one of the few to also defend! Jahki is finishing his Sophomore year and had a College Coach ask about him! The sky is the limit for Clarke!

033

JORDAN RODRIGUEZ—KENNEDY: Jordan was another player who actually defended, and did it well. Jordan played very well in the event as he was a great finisher on fast breaks and was a knock down shooter out to the three point line! Jordan has a relaxed game with the ability to shift gears on a dime and all the makeup to play Collegiate basketball!

003

KASEY WALKER–MT. ST. MICHAEL: Kasey was an impressive player with a great body that could get to the rim at any point! Walker was a tough defender and a true quarterback on the floor! He knocked shots down and was a tough competitor who became a favorite of his event Coach who raved about him! Has what it takes to get to next level!

007

DEMETRIUS DAVIS–P.C.T.I.:  Another one of the younger players in the Showcase, Demetrius came to play on both ends of the floor! While, he may need to get a little bit stronger he was not afraid to put his body on the line! His most impressive strength was his basketball IQ! He consistently made the right play and was a strong on the ball defender! Had no trouble beating his man to the basket!

005

KENDRICK CLAYTON– WEST ORANGE: Kendrick has a motor that never stops, which is a very good thing to see this day and age! The lefty has a sweet stroke and had no problem getting to the bucket as he is a strong finisher to the basket which he proved on numerous fast break chances! Took full advantage of every opportunity he got!
