Written by Cameron on . Posted in Garden State Hoops, Passaic

006Junior Alphonso (Chop) Gee is one of the most prolific scorers in the area as he has already eclipsed the 1,000 point mark with a great shot at finishing over the 2,000 point plateau by the time his career is over! Kennedy has  tremendous guards coming back and with the addition of some big men they are primed to make noise this season! At the end of the day, this teams success will go as far as Gee takes them! Chop took the time to give an observation of his team for the upcoming season in his first Diary installment! Gardenstatehoops thanks Gee for taking the time to talk to us!

How we are preparing for not only Friday, but the whole season is to start off strong. For a long time Kennedy has been a guard oriented team which made us trap and use our quickness to our advantage, But now we have a couple of players that have size, which is different for us. So we were  getting used to having big men on the floor and fitting them into our system. Defense was our #1 priority at practice because without that everything else means nothing. We have a lot of pieces that fits this team and knowing that everybody will do their part makes it even better and tougher to beat us. The bigs have made it much easier for us to play knowing we have them to rebound and defend in the paint. The coaches have mainly been on our backs about being a team and playing as a team. This year will be a test for us. We have a lot to prove and much work to put in. All the long nights and intense practices will pay off and we will be the team to beat!!
