005  As the coming 2013-14 highschool season approaches, Gardenstatehoops will periodically showcase a player or players to keep an eye on in the Northern New Jersey area! Some are mainstays, while others are just waiting to put their mark on the area basketball scene!

Passaic Valley will expect big things from their trio of Senior Stefan Minic, Junior Shawn Ulrich and Sophomore Jihad Wright! In Minic(right) they have a strong perimete003r player who has improved going to the basket. His three point shooting is still his bread and bu004tter!The 6’7 Ulrich(left) has a big upside and his playing with the Playaz AAU team this summer allowed him to compete on a very high level, which should help him in the upcoming season! He will be looked upon to be a force in the middle as well as knock down mid range shots! Wright will probably be the key to Passaic Valley’s success as he will have to be able to handle the pressure defenses that will come his way this year. The point guard  handled himself well as a freshman, but he is no secret now! An improved jump shot should also help his game!
