Hackensack stuns Queen Of Peace 69-66

It all came tumbling down for Queen Of Peace as a night playing to the crowd and having their way with the Hackensack Comets became a shocking and humbling experience.  Sophmore guard Alex George drilled a three pointer with 11 seconds on the clock and Keon Williams steal with 3 seconds sealed the deal as Hackensack H.S. overcame being down for most of the game to pull off a mini miracle by beating Queen Of Peace H.S. 69-66 and will now face Don Bosco Prep H.S. in the finals of the Bergen County Jamboree. The game seemed well in hand for Q.P. as they led from the beginning of the second quarter til the final score.  The achilles heel for Queen Of Peace has always been this year how would they react in a close game and what would happen if they lost a starter or two from a lineup thats considered one of the most talented in the northern New Jersey area. Some of the questions were answered when guard Al Don Muhammad and forward Dwayne Moffatt both fouled out in the game leaving Q.P. shorthanded and enabling the Comets to methodically come back. Williams(26pts.,18rebs.4stls) and guard Ricky Carroll(20pts,9rebs,3asts,3stls) who played a tremendous game, led the way for the Comets as each made big plays during the comeback.Queen Of Peace guard Javae Gilchrist(23pts,7rebs,3asts) and center,Providence bound Bilal Dixon(15pts,12rebs,8blks.) could not do enough to stop the late game heroics of Hackensack. note: jr. guard Romaine Walls(10pts) also played a tremendous game and showed outstanding leadership throughout.
