JINGLE BELLS JUBILEE SEMIFINALS: HUDSON CATHOLIC AND PATERSON EASTSIDE REACH”CHIP”!

Paterson,NJ… The Jingle Bells Jubilee Semifinal games were close exciting games with suspense at the end of each contest and when it was all done, Hudson Catholic and Paterson Eastside came away victorious!

Senior Nassir Barrino(right) scored 18 of his game high 26 points in the 1st half and Freshman Jahvon Quinerly(left) who added 11 points made some clutch plays late, including a three pointer to give the Hawks a 50-48 advantage! Barrino scored 16 of Hudson Catholic’s 18 1st quarter points as they took a 18-6 lead over Life Center! Life Center came all the way back as a Traci Carter layup gave them their first lead of the game 32-31 with 5:26 left in the 3rd quarter! It became a back and forth affair the rest of the way with Senior Sammy Friday’s free throws giving Hudson Catholic the final score 54-52! Friday finished with 9 points and 7 rebounds as they had to overcome a 24 point, 5 blocked shot game from 6’3 senior Malik Ellison!

   Senior Shakur Juiston(right) was a man child as he accounted for 21 points and 13 rebounds as Eastside outlasted Teaneck 51-47! Junior Terra Gatling(left0 added 12 points with 12 rebounds as Eastside took a 22-15 halftime lead and manage to hold on in a game where scoring the ball didn’t come easy for either squad! Teaneck was led by Sophomore Leondre Washington with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Freshman Ja’Quaye James 8 points and 5 assists! Eastside got a big boost from guard Aaryn Abrams off the bench as he scored 6 points with 3 assists and 2 steals! They will face Hudson Catholic for the title Monday at 7:30pm!
