MONDAY FALLBALL CHAMPS: NEWARK EASTSIDE!!!!

Kennedy H.S., Paterson,N.J…. They got a second chance and took advantage! Newark Eastside reached the Semifinals in the Playaz sponsored Monday FallBall League as a fill in and ended up being the Monday FallBall Champions! Life Center was the Quarterfinal winner but because they would not be able to make the Semis due to rescheduling Newark Eastside took the spot and played it’s way to the championship! Newark Eastside blewout Kennedy 52-26 to win the Monday FallBall League! Senior Jibreel Ahmad scored 13 points and Senior Taj Price added 10 in the title game! Newark Eastside had a close 14-12 lead but then dominated the rest of the way! Junior Alphonso Gee led Kennedy with 12 points! Newark Eastside reached the “Chip” by surprising Hudson Catholic in the Semis 55-54! Hudson was leading by 10 with 2:44 left but made some late turnovers and allowed Newark Eastside to come all the way back and won on two late free throws! Ahmad again led the way with 13 points and Price added 12! Senior Nassir Barrino led Hudson Catholic with 12 points! Kennedy reached the “Chip” by winning a one point game against Bergen Catholic 54-53!  Gee led Kennedy with 16 points and Junior Jalani Morris added 10 points!
