Englewood,NJ…. Gardenstatehoops travelled to Englewood to get a glimpse of the Pioneer Academy Prep school as it has many familiar players that have been covered in the past and it was a chance to catch up on them as they went against Englewood!003 Former Hackensack stars Gene Marshall and Chris Myers, ex-Cresskill star Dom Wilson, ex-Kennedy star Gary Simpson, ex-Dwight-Englewood star Keion Osbourne and ex-Newark Tech star Dwayne Murrill are some of the players participating with the Prep s004chool from Wayne! What GSH ran into was a exciting basketball game, as Englewood fought tooth and nail with the fifth year school leading most of the game! But,Myers(right) killed all the hoopla when with 4 seconds  left in the game he raced up the court and drilled a 35 foot “triple” with no time left to give the Academy a 78-75 win! Englewood led at the half 45-29 as Senior guard Leon White scored 17 of his 21 points in the stanza! The Pioneer school was still down 64-53 at the end of the 3rd when they slowly fought back, finally tying the game with 3:03 left in the 4th on a Marshall layup! The game went back and forth down the stretch and it seemed Englewood had taken control 75-70 on a bucket from Senior Justin Iton! But free throws from Murrill and Myers and a driving layup from Simpson with 11 seconds left tied the game at 75! After a turnover with 4 seconds left, it set the stage for Myers heroics! Murrill(left) led the Pioneer Academy with 20 points and 9 rebounds, Myers finished with 17 points and 5 dimes,Marshall scored 12 points and pulled down 7 rebounds and Osbourne and Wilson each scored 11 points! White’s 21 led Englewood, while Senior Julius Wingate scored 18 points with 10 rebounds and Senior Nelson Goodwater chipped in 10 points! The game was marred by a scary incident late in the game as Osbourne went up for a block and came down on his head and shoulder! The game was stopped for about 30 minutes as he was carrried away by Paramedics! Thoughts and prayers go out to Keion,Coach Ozzie Osbourne and his family on his well being!
