PASSAIC COUNTY TOURNAMENT RESULTS: WAYNE HILLS AND DEPAUL ADVANCE!

Gardenstatehoops went to two Passaic County Tournament games in Haledon and Wayne and saw Wayne Hills travel to Manchester and pull off a win 54-53 and DePaul defeat Pompton Lakes 63-52!010

 In an exciting Passaic County Tournament game Junior Joey Kenny(right) scored 17 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead four players in double figures as Wayne Hills came back to defeat Manchester 54-53! Manchester had a narrow lead through most of the contest as Junior Alex Morales who finished with 15 points and 14 rebounds was leading the way! Freshman Joey Belli’s “triple” gave Wayne Hill’s it’s first lead since the 1st quarter 48-47! Senior Brad Gaffney gave Manchester a 49-48 lead but Junior Dorian Hodge and Kenny made buckets to give Wayne Hills a 51-48 lead! Sophomore Justin Hodge made a free throw and Kenny finished the scoring with a layup! Manchester could only get a layup and Wayne Hills held on! Senior David Torres scored 14 points, while Hodge had 10 points and 7 assists and Belli also scored 10 points for Wayne Hills! Gaffney finished with 12 points and Junior Akiel Murray also scored 12 points! Wayne Hills will move on to play Kennedy next weekend!

Senior Debon Bright had his customary numbers scoring 22 points, but he got big help from his friends in DePaul’s 63-52 win over Pompton Lakes! DePaul scored the first 15 points of the game as they took a 24-6 first quarter lead and went wire to wire in011 their victory! Junior Jordan Thomas(right) scored 11 points with 8 assists 6 rebounds as DePaul had 9 players score in the contest! Freshman Khristopher Banks scored 10 points for DePaul while Freshman Michael Koch added 8 points and Freshman Jamir Lattimore added  5 dimes and 4 steals! DePaul will now face #1 seeded Eastside next weekend!
