006The Passaic County Tournament has Kennedy vs Passaic County Tech and Wayne Valley vs Wayne Hills going at it in the Semifinals at Kennedy HS! Here is a preview of each matchup!                                                                                     KENNEDY   vs   PASSAIC COUNTY TECH 3pm

KENNEDY: Kennedy is the #1 seed in the tournament! They are the slight favorite in the tournament!  Kennedy is led by their Senior guard tandem of Jaylen Colon and Jamir Lattimore! Colon is the primary offensive threat and when he is on the Knights are a hard team to beat night in and night out, while Lattimore(right) is the do it all player as he can play four positons at 6’0 and is one of the best on the ball defenders in the State! Junior Avant’e Gilbert s a 6’4 wing who has a tremendous upside and Sophomore Jalen Hargrove has a high skill level and the ability to score inside and out! Sophomore Deishon Harrison is a slick ballhandler and passer who can finish around the basket! Kennedy also has a deep bench in Junior Gemir Robinson, Senior Zhimiar Cantey, Senior Elijah Thomas, Sophomore Jah-malhi Carnegie and Freshman Jae’Waun Abrams!017

PASSAIC COUNTY TECH: Passaic County Tech is the 4th seed in the tournament, but truth be told is a decided underdog in their matchup against Kennedy! Tech will look to Senior Nile Wade(right), who has had some explosive games this season, Junior Toknowa Thomas and Senior Anthony Smith to provide the offense! Junior Joshua Combs had a strong game against DePaul to help get Tech to this game! Jeremiah Monroe also had a nice game against DePaul! Tech has already lost to Kennedy twice this year so they have nothing to lose!

The Pick: Kennedy

WAYNE VALLEY  vs   WAYNE HILLS 5pm

WAYNE VALLEY: Wayne Valley has snuck up on teams early, but no more as they are the 2nd seeded squad! T009hey have a strong starting five led by  6’5 Forward Jared See(right)! He is a relentless player who has a knack for the ball and can surprise you inside and out! Senior A.J. Tedesco provides perimeter shooting and is a strong rebounder! Junior Anthony D’Arienzo can shoot the rock and is their main perimeter scorer, while Junior Patrick Cronin had a big growth spurt and also is tough on the boards and a good finisher and Junior guard Mark Howell is probably the nmost talented player on the team as he can knock down shots and consistently get to the rim! Senior Tom Santaniello and Senior Zaid Hussein are the key players off the bench!

WAYNE HILLS: Wayne Hills has lost to Wayne Valley twice this season but with out a doubt are good enough to win the whole thing! Senior Joey Belli(right) is the catalyst for Hills as he is capable of going off at any time! Senior Justin W013ills is a dead eye shooter who has gotten better at putting the ball on the floor and become a tough multi dimensional player! Senior Jason Modak still is one of the toughest players to contend with in the post in the county and Junior Jake Belli has established himself as a tough ball handler who’s point guard play has opened it up for brother Joey and Wills! Senior Joe Cerone, Senior Patrick Gilmore and Junior Pulast Thaker are all key contributors!

The Pick: Wayne Valley
