PASSAIC VALLEY HOLDS OFF WAYNE VALLEY 62-52!

343Wayne,NJ…… Senior Stefan Minic scored 20 points and got help from his young backcourt of Sophomore Jihad Wright and Freshman Tito Ramirez in beating a tough Wayne Valley 62-52 and preparing themselves for the New Years Jumpoff at Eastside HS on Sunday! Wright was in foul trouble most of the game,but when he was in he made a huge impact and Ramirez provided strong ball handling and timely shooting! PV held a 36-25 halftime lead but Wayne Valley came out in the 3rd and went on a 11-0 run to cut the lead to four 40-36 but Minic’s “triple” out of a timeout gave Passaic Valley a little cushion and Wright and Senior Zach Damiano caused havoc on the defensive end to maintain it’s 11 point lead at the end of the quarter 52-41! Wayne Valley had another run in them behind Junior Kyle Greve’s three point shooting! He hit five of them in the contest, including some clutch ones late to give Wayne Valley another opportunity!Minic also grabbed 8 rebounds in the game! Wright scored 8 points,snatched 8 rebounds, dished out 5 dimes and stole 3 balls as he filled the stat sheet! Ramirez scored 13 points, including 3″triples”! Greve paced Wayne Valley with 17 points, while Senior Liam Connors scored 14 points and Senior Adam Brody added 12 points and 10 rebounds! Passaic Valley will be in their first Jumpoff contest and will face one of the best teams in the area in the Teaneck Highwaymen!
