PLAYAZ EYBL WEEKEND RECAP!

Hampton, Va…….. The Playaz Basketball Club went down to the Boo Williams Complex in Hampton,Virginia and grabbed 4 more wins in t025he Nike EYBL League circuit! That makes the Playaz an impressive 10-2 for the year, including 8 wins in a row! Led primarily by their backcourt of Isaiah Briscoe, Temple Gibbs Jr, Myles Powell and Travon Duval and the inside presence of Moustapha Diagne and Shakur Juiston the Playaz have established themselves as one of the teams to beat on the cicuit! Team Texas Elite, BABC, Boo Williams and Team United all took loses from the Playaz this weekend! Briscoe(right)021 set the tone for the weekend by scoring 27 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and 3 dimes in defeating Texas Elite 77-68! Gibbs added 18 points, Powell scored 15 points on 5″triples”and Diagne scored 8 points with 7 boards and 3 blocks! Austin Grandstaff( Rivals #30) led Texas with 27 points! The second game of the weekend pitted the Playaz against BABC(Mass)! Briscoe again led the way with 19 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists while Gibbs scored 17 points and Powell chipped in 12 in beating BABC 64-55! Terrance Mann(Rivals#92) led BABC with 18 points! Sunday’s early game was some what of a shocker as the Playaz nrver looked back against old rival Boo Williams 90-68 as the Playaz had 5 players in double figures and none were named Briscoe! Diagne(left)024 completely dominated this game as he scored 21 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, blocked 4 shots and alterred numerous other shots! Powell(13pts),Gibbs(12pts), Juiston(10pts) and Damien Rance(10pts) all were in double figures! Chris Clarke(Rivals#104) led Boo Williams with 13 points! The final game of the weekend was a cake walk as Gibbs(bottom right) scored 22 points and Briscoe scored 18 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 4 assists in their 81-60 win over Team United(NC)! Luke Maye(Rivals#135) led United with 16 points! The Playaz head to Minnesota next weekend and face top tier squads in Travelers Basketball(Ky), CIA Bounce(Can) with Montaque Gill-Caesar(Rivals#22), Each 1 Teach 1(Fl) with Benjamin Simmons(Rivals#5) and Daniel Giddens(Rivals#26) and Athlete’s First(Ok) with high scoring Allonzo Trier(Rivals#38)!

 

The Playaz 16 and 15 squads competed in the Nike Invitational for their respective age groups at Hampton,Virginia! The 16’s behind the play of Jagan Mosely(left), Jamir Harris, James Scott and Pat Andree were impres016sive through014out the weekend, but unfortunately they lost a heartbreaker to the Atlanta Stampede in quarterfinal play! The 15 squad led by Elijah Barnes(right), Tyheem Burno, Ja’quaye Jones and Pat Stryzala reached the Semifinals by defeating CP3, but fell to Team Takeover in that contest!
