RING TO BE REPLACED!!

018 As reported by the Herald News, Kennedy Highschool Coach Jim Ring will be replaced as Head Basketball Coach after 19 years! Ring did 19 as an Assistant Coach for the same school! It seems that Coach Ring was blindsided by the news, but at the same time it was also thought that he would be leaving the position in the near future(a year or two), and while it maybe the time in many peoples mind, the way it was done was not the proper way that a man of 38 years should have been treated! Coaching an inner city school like Kennedy is not an easy thing and while dealing with players that go through more in life than just what’s happening on the basketball court on an everyday basis leaves room for a lot of scrutiny, it takes a tough minded individual to go that amount of years going through the same problems year after year! No Coach is perfect when it comes to handling these situations and Coach Ring was not perfect either, but Gardenstatehoops would like to congratulate him on the ability to stand the test of time and on a personal note thanks for the way you have always treated this website! Hopefully you can somehow continue your fight against Cancer through basketball! That might be bigger than anything you have ever done on the basketball court! Good Luck in the Future to you and your family! ( Coach Ring with St. Joe’s Junior Nate Garvey at Coaches Vs. Cancer event this year at Kennedy H.S.)
