002Roselle,N.J……. South Carolina commit Chris Silva(pictured) scored all 13 of his points in the 2nd half and Kentucky commit Isaiah Briscoe scored 22 points as Roselle Catholic over came a halftime deficit to beat St.Anthony 51-48 in the Hoops For Troops Basketball Showcase at Roselle Catholic! The game wasn’t the prettiest, but was hard fought as neither team would give an inch in the contest! St.Anthony defense did a great job on Roselle Catholic in the 1st half as they held them to 15 points and led 21-15 at intermission! Roselle Catholic took the lead in the 3rd quarter as they outscored St. Ant’s 22-8 and took a 37-29 lead! Silva’s layup with 4:28 in the 3rd gave Roselle Catholic a 24-23 lead which they held on to the rest of the way! St. Anthony still got as close as three as they overcame a 10 point deficit late and had a shot which could have tied the score! Roselle Catholic could have won the game easily but uncharacteristically shot badly from the foulline as Briscoe particularly didn’t shoot well from the line! He still managed to grabbed 6 rebounds to go with his 22 points! Silva grabbed 8 boards for Roselle! Junior Taurean Thompson played well for St.Anthony scoring 14 points with 6 rebounds and 4 blocked shots, while Wichita St. commit Markis McDuffie scored 14 points and pulled down 7 rebounds! Junior Jagan Mosely scored 12 points, but having to sit a portion of the 3rd quarter due to foul trouble gave Roselle Catholic an added advantage in their run to take the lead! With the season early the game gave a good barometer for both teams with one obvious fact! These two teams are destined to meet again!
