Wayne, N.J…… #5 Seed Wayne Valley exploded for 54 second half points to beat # 12 Seed Paramus and advance in the North 1 Group 3 State Playoffs! With Wayne Valley leading in a close contest at the half 22-21, they came out and Junior Ameer Coubati, Sophomore Drake Flower and Junior Hisham Ali hit consecutive “triples” to start the 3rd quarter and pull out to a 32-21 lead as they finished the quarter leading 52-38! Junior Derek Sandowick caught fire as he scored as he scored 19 points in the 2nd half! Sandowick led the way with 21 points while Flower and Coubati each finished with 19 points! Senior Trevor Bopp led Paramus with 23 points and Senior Robert Uka added 16!

UNION COUNTY TOURNAMENT: PATRICK SCHOOL DEFEATS ROSELLE CATHOLIC 56-42!

Kean University Union, N.J…. The Patrick School had four players in double figures as they defeated Roselle Catholic 56-42 to win the Union County Championship! Senior Noah Farrakhan led the way with 15 points, Senior Samson Johnson added 13 points and Junior Adam Sanogo and Junior Jonathan Kuminga each chipped in 12 as Kuminga also dished out 7 assists and Sanogo added 11 rebounds! The Patrick School took a 42-32 lead at the end of the 3rd and never got threatened! Sophomore Corey Floyd Jr. led R.C. with 19 points and Freshman Simeon Wilcher added 12! Senior Cliff Omuruyi grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked 5 shots for Roselle!

PASSAIC COUNTY TOURNAMENT: KENNEDY DEFEATS EASTSIDE 84-54!

PASSAIC COUNTY CHAMPS: KENNEDY

In a tremendous display of offense, Kennedy got on all cylinders to defeat Eastside 84-54 and take the Passaic County Title! Senior Deishon Harrison controlled the tempo as they put pressure on Eastside from the start! Senior Mark Heber started the onslaught with two straight “triples” to start the game! After Eastside answered to keep it close in the 1st, but Kennedy started to pull away in the 2nd quarter as they led at the half 41-24! The 3rd was a continuation as Sophomore Yasen Crawford scored 11 points in the quarter to extend the lead to 63-39 at the end of the 3rd! One big factor in the game was that Senior Jalen Hargrove was unable to play because he was unjustly disqualified in the County Semifinal game so he had to sit, but Senior Bre’quan Moore subbed for Hargrove and was stellar in the contest as he was a defensive force! He finished with 9 rebounds and 5 blocked shots and altered even more! Harrison finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals, while Crawford added 17 points and 3 steals and Heber scored 15 points! Junior Levi Holton and Freshman Preston Brown led Eastside with 12 points apiece and Sophomore O’Shamier Majette chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds!
