PASSAIC COUNTY FRESHMAN SEMIFINALS: PASSAIC COUNTY TECH AND WAYNE HILLS REACH FINALS!

003International H.S. Paterson,N.J….. Gardenstatehoops went to check out the young highschool ballers in the 1st Annual Passaic County Freshman Tournament sponsored by the P.N.B.A.! The Semifinals were tonight and Passaic County Tech and Wayne Hills came out victorious and will meet in the”Chip”!

 

 

 

                                                                               PASSAIC COUNTY TECH   50     PASSAIC   37

 

 Passaic County Tech’s freshman squad showed nice cohesiveness and team work as they held on to defeat Passaic 50-37! T.J. Smith(right) was the main weapon for Tech as he had a game high 18 points and his energy on each end of the floor spurred P.C.T.! Tech was led by the study play of point guard Niles Wade and his backcourt mate Tyshawn Gary! Wade dished out 6 assists, while Gary added 3 dimes and three steals to lead the defensive pressure! Forward Joe Mariani chipped in 12 points for Tech! Passaic made a run early in the 1st half to cut the lead to 6 but Tech managed to stem the run and win comfortably! Passaic has a 6’6 project in the name of Kyle Rios who seems to have a good upside and a bright future! He finished the contest with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocked shots!

 

 

 

                                                                               WAYNE HILLS  61     WAYNE VALLEY  24

 

Jason Modak(right) scored 16 points and pulled down 7 rebounds to lead Wayne Hills to a convincing 61-24 win over Wayne Valley to move to the Championship game against Passaic County Tech! Wayne Hills jumped out to a 28-9 halftime lead and were never thr004eatened! Wayne Hills has a nice freshman group who will be a formidable opponent for Tech! Joe Cerrone is a stat sheet stuffer as his 7 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals, a blocked shot and an assist will attest to and Justin Wills is a savvy point guard who can hurt you from deep and with penetration! Wayne Hills was excellent on the boards outrebounding Wayne Valley 35-12 in the game! Jarrett See had 10 points for Wayne Valley!!

 

 

 

 

 

Passaic Tech and Wayne Hills final is set for next Friday at 7pm at the International H.S. in Paterson!
